We are delighted to announce the return to Radio Caroline of former pirate radio DJ Stevie Gordon, 46 years after he became the last voice heard from our radio ship Mi Amigo as she sank in a storm in March 1980.
Stevie’s final words to listeners from the stricken vessel became part of Radio Caroline’s dramatic history: “I think we’ll be back one way or another, from all of us, for the moment, goodbye and god bless”.
Now, more than four decades later, Stevie is back with a brand-new show every Wednesday at 2pm from 26 August, bringing his enduring passion for radio and love of music back to the airwaves.
Since his time with Radio Caroline in the 70s, Stevie has continued his broadcasting career with a number of radio stations in Ireland and Scandinavia, as well as the offshore station Voice of Peace in Israel. More recently, he was Programme Director of the Dutch station Radio Seagull.
Stevie’s return marks a welcome reunion with the station and our listeners, reconnecting one of the most significant voices in Radio Caroline’s history with the station he helped define.
