Bye-bye Hofstede

Herbert Visser writing on his Facebook page:

This picture was taken last week by Veronica DJ Wouter vd Goes, who is also a light aircraft pilot. It shows our radio building De Hofstede in Naarden in all its glory.

Today is the very last day that all radio stations will be broadcasting from this building. From tomorrow, 100% NL and SLAM! will be broadcasting from our new premises in Amsterdam, followed by Sublime, Sunlite and Radio Veronica in mid-October.

De Hofstede was the headquarters of the offshore station RNI in the early 1970s, and between 1992 and 2001 it was the home of the very first legally licensed Dutch commercial radio station, Radio Noordzee (which still exists under different ownership and is called Qmusic). Classic FM also used the building for a few years in the 90s.

100% NL moved in at the beginning of 2013. Later that year, Radio 10 moved in until the end of 2016, when it was replaced by SLAM! Sunlite was launched from there in 2021, and Sublime and Radio Veronica joined them last year. But in October the radio history of this building will come to an end and soon all the studios will be demolished and replaced by something else.
